Over the past twenty years I have noticed that most people don’t ask themselves the right questions either out of fear or due to believing they wouldn’t know where to start or how to figure them out when they discover them. Unfortunately the results will be the same!  If you don’t ask the right questions you will never find the right answers!

In my experience the first reaction to being asked something that you don’t know is fear or panic.  We tend to almost go into a fight or flight mode and instead of using the resources we have such as our intelligence, our memories, our logic and reasoning and any type of systematic process of elimination; we run!  Not always physically but at least figuratively.  But you don’t have to run.

You see, the only reason you run is because you have trained your unconscious behaviors to be ready to run in these situations.  But here’s an interesting fact…when you run from a problem or question, it doesn’t go away.  It simply becomes something you are now ‘running’ from and it will chase you and find you at some point.  Especially if you are avoiding an issue that is important to your well being or success and happiness.

Instead of running I suggest that you start developing a new behavior; a weapon if you will, that you can use anytime you want to help you get out of sticky situations and to help you improve your overall performance and confidence.  And the way to do so is to start asking yourself questions.   Do some self discovery.  Find out what makes you tick!   What do you really want out of your life?  What do you truly want out of your career?  How close are you to your goals?   What has to change?  What are you afraid of changing?

It can seem scary at first, but I can tell you from experience that it’s actually invigorating once you stumble upon something you didn’t know about yourself or you go ‘head to head’ with a question that has been concerning you and you realize it was nothing or you can solve it just by putting together a simple plan.  You have the power to become The Ideal You® but you have to earn it!

If you want to be extraordinary and you want to produce extraordinary results then you need to face extraordinary challenges!
