Grab the wheel…we’re about to crash!!! Or maybe it just feels like it!
So who’s really driving your ship?
I know the obvious answer is, “I am.”
I mean you’re the business owner. You’re the executive. You’re the one making the decisions. But are you?
Or have you slowly become someone who’s reacting to the life you’ve created?
So…who’s actually making the decisions?
Not the decisions about your schedule but the decisions about your life.
Very few people intentionally build a life they don’t enjoy. But the unconsciously stop making time for themselves or they become reactive.
The meetings become normal. The constant interruptions become normal. Working late becomes normal. Missing dinner becomes normal.
After a while, we stop asking whether this is the life we want and instead, we convince ourselves, “This is just how it is.”
I don’t think that’s true.
Oftentimes the challenges in front of us are there to help us grow.
Other times…we’re our own worst enemy and we add layers of difficulty to our own plan or lack there of.
We say we want more peace, more fulfillment. more time with the people we love.
A stronger marriage, a healthier body. a meaningful legacy…
But if someone followed us around for a week, would they conclude those things were actually important to us?
Our decisions always reveal our priorities. Not our intentions.
That’s why I think one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves isn’t,
“What do I need to do next?”
It’s, “Why am I choosing this?”
Am I building this business because it genuinely aligns with the life I want to create. Or am I chasing something I haven’t stopped long enough to question?
More money isn’t automatically better.
A bigger business isn’t automatically better.
Scaling isn’t automatically better.
Not if the cost is becoming someone you never intended to be.
Maybe the goal isn’t simply to become more successful, maybe it’s to become more intentional.
Because whether we realize it or not…every decision is taking us somewhere.
The only question is whether we’re choosing the destination—or simply drifting toward it.
